Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Hedefa ("we," "us," "Roomn") and govern your access to and use of the Roomn mobile application, the roomn.app website, and any associated services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Auto-renewable subscriptions purchased through the App Store are additionally governed by Apple's Standard End User License Agreement ("Apple EULA"), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula.
By using Roomn, you're agreeing to these rules and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Roomn. Simple as that.
If you pay for Roomn Pro, Apple's standard subscription terms also apply (since they process the payment).
Who can use Roomn
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account or use the Service. If the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction is higher than 13, you must meet that age or obtain verifiable parental permission where required.
By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:
- You meet the minimum age requirement;
- You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms;
- Your use of the Service will comply with all applicable laws;
- You have not been previously banned from the Service.
You have to be at least 13 to use Roomn. In some countries, the minimum may be higher — follow your local law.
If we banned you before, don't make a new account. We'll find out.
Your account
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration;
- Maintain and promptly update your account information;
- Not share your account with any other person;
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe it has been compromised or used in violation of these Terms.
Your account is yours. Keep your password safe and don't share your account. If someone else gets into it, tell us right away so we can help.
If we think your account has been hacked or is being misused, we might pause or close it while we figure out what's going on.
Community rules
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, or stalk any person;
- Post or share hateful content, including content that targets people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
- Share sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content, including content depicting minors in any compromising manner;
- Solicit personal information from minors or engage in grooming behavior;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity;
- Post spam, chain messages, pyramid schemes, or other unsolicited promotional content;
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other user accounts, or our systems;
- Use any automated means (including bots, scrapers, or crawlers) to access or collect data from the Service;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service;
- Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service or any servers or networks connected to it;
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, including intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or export control laws.
Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, permanent ban, and in serious cases, referral to law enforcement.
Keep Roomn safe and respectful. Don't:
- Harass, bully, or threaten anyone
- Post hate, slurs, or discriminatory content
- Share sexual, violent, or creepy content
- Mess with minors in any inappropriate way — this is a hard line
- Pretend to be someone you're not
- Spam, scam, or run get-rich schemes
- Try to hack the app, scrape data, or break our systems
- Use bots or automated tools on the Service
Break these and we'll remove your content, suspend or ban your account, and — for serious stuff — report to the authorities.
Your content
"User Content" means any text, images, photos, messages, posts, comments, profile information, and other material you submit to the Service.
Ownership. You retain ownership of your User Content. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to us.
License to Roomn. By submitting User Content, you grant Hedefa a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, display, perform, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Service. This license ends when you or we delete the content, except for reasonable backup copies and where retention is required by law.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for your User Content and for the consequences of posting it. You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to post the content;
- Your content does not violate any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
- Your content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.
Our right to remove. We may remove, modify, or restrict access to User Content at our discretion if we believe it violates these Terms or harms other users. We are not obligated to monitor or pre-screen content.
You own what you post — messages, posts, photos, everything. We don't take ownership.
But to show your content inside the app (to you and other users), we need some technical permission to store and display it. That's all this license does. It ends when you delete the content.
You're responsible for what you post. Don't post things you don't have rights to (like someone else's photos), and don't post things that violate our rules.
We can remove content if it breaks our rules or harms other users. We don't pre-screen everything, but we act on reports.
Subscriptions & payments
Certain features of the Service ("Roomn Pro") are available only through an auto-renewable subscription purchased through the App Store.
- Pricing. Current pricing is displayed at checkout in the app in your local currency.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Payment. All payments are processed by Apple. We do not collect or store payment card information.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time via Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone. Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds. Refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with its terms. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Free trials. Any free trial automatically converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless canceled beforehand.
- Price changes. We may change subscription pricing. For active subscribers, changes will apply to the next billing period after reasonable notice.
Your subscription is also governed by the Apple EULA referenced in Section 1.
Roomn Pro is a subscription you buy through the App Store.
- Pricing shows up at checkout in your local currency
- It auto-renews until you cancel — same as Netflix, Spotify, etc.
- Apple handles the payment; we never see your card
- To cancel: iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → roomn → Cancel
- For a refund: go to reportaproblem.apple.com — Apple handles refunds, not us
- If there's a free trial, it'll turn into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends
- If we change the price, we'll tell you before the next charge
Our intellectual property
The Service, including its design, features, source code, text, graphics, logos, icons, and other content created by or for Hedefa (collectively, "Roomn IP"), is owned by Hedefa and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
You may not:
- Copy, modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works from Roomn IP;
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices;
- Use the Roomn name, logo, or brand without written permission.
Roomn (the app, the brand, the design, the code) is ours. You can use it for personal, non-commercial purposes — that's the point.
Don't copy our code, rip our designs, or use the roomn name or logo for your own stuff without asking.
Termination
By you. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Account deletion is available in the app at Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or by contacting us at privacy@roomn.app.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, at our discretion, with or without notice, if:
- We reasonably believe you have violated these Terms;
- Your actions may expose Roomn or other users to legal liability or harm;
- Providing the Service to you is no longer commercially or legally viable.
Effect. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Content License, Disclaimers, Liability, and Disputes) will continue in effect.
You can quit Roomn anytime — Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Your data is gone within 30 days.
We can also ban you if you break the rules, harm other users, or put us at legal risk. Usually we give notice; sometimes we don't (if it's serious).
Some parts of these terms still apply after you leave — like the liability limits and the content license (for stuff still being displayed to other users until deletion completes).
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or quality of any content accessed through the Service.
Roomn is not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or offline, and is not liable for any interactions or meetings arranged through the Service.
We do our best to make Roomn work well, but we can't promise it'll always be up, bug-free, or perfect. You use it at your own risk.
Important: Roomn connects you with other students. We can't guarantee how they'll act. Use common sense. Don't share personal info with strangers. Meet in public if you meet in person.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL HEDEFA, ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
If something goes wrong with Roomn, we're not responsible for indirect stuff — lost profits, lost data, missed study time, etc.
If you ever do successfully claim something against us, the most we'd pay is either what you paid us in the last 12 months, or $50 — whichever is higher.
Some countries don't let companies limit liability this much. If yours is one of them, we'll respect your local law.
Disputes & governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be addressed through good-faith informal negotiation by contacting us at hedefa@roomn.app. If the dispute is not resolved within thirty (30) days, it shall be submitted to the competent courts of Saudi Arabia.
Nothing in this section restricts your right to bring claims in your local jurisdiction where applicable consumer protection law requires.
If we disagree about something, these terms are read under Saudi Arabian law.
Before going to court, email hedefa@roomn.app and let's try to work it out. If we can't in 30 days, disputes go to Saudi Arabian courts.
If your local law says you can file a consumer claim in your own country, you can still do that — we're not taking that right away.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notification and, where possible, by email. The updated Terms will be effective as of the date indicated at the top of this page.
Your continued use of the Service after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
We might update these terms. If the changes are significant, you'll see a notification in the app and (usually) get an email.
If you keep using Roomn after an update, that means you're OK with the new terms. If you're not, you can delete your account.
